On Saturday, November 22, at 7:30 PM, the Solidarity Committee continues its 2008-2009 film series with a showing of "No Logo" (2003, 52 minutes).

 Based on the best-selling book by Canadian journalist and activist Naomi Klein, "No Logo" reveals the reasons behind the revolt against the increasing economic and cultural reach of multinational corporations.  These include not only the exploitation of low-wage workers in developing nations, but the commercial takeover of public space, destruction of consumer choice, and replacement of real jobs with temporary work.

 "No Logo" also calls attention to the democratic resistance that has been arising against multinational corporate domination.

The film-showing—cosponsored by Bethlehem Neighbors for Peace and Upper Hudson Peace Action—will take place at a new location:  the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany, located at 405 Washington Avenue (across the street from the downtown SUNY campus).
